"Pigs & Kids in a blanket" ...The Barskoe Gorodische orphans are growing excellent crops with the suitcases of seeds that we bring to Russia each year. They enjoy fresh milk from their cows & eggs from their chickens. Their fat pigs provide tasty meat, resulting in healthier orphans. Director Alex & teaches the children to farm, which will give the children a trade when they leave the orphanage at age 16 years. This winter was particularly freezing cold, often managing -40 degrees. This year 7 out of 17 piglets froze to death. Director Alex was ingenious. He assigned a piglet each of ten orphans, and at night they wrapped them in a blanket to keep them warm. All the remaining piglets survived. It gives new meaning to "pigs in a blanket"....

Financial Support for Treasures of the Heart

Many people ask, "Where do you get your funding?" Glad you asked. Our policy has been to never ask anyone for support, we depend on God filling the needs He has put before us.

In our newsletter, web page, and one-on-one conversations, we tell people what we are working on. Often, we show prices we have to meet to fulfill these needs. Money starts flowing in, sometimes from the most unlikely and unexpected places. Amazingly, we often receive money before we have shared the need. God has already spoken directly to your hearts and revealed what must be done. It truly blesses us & confirms that we are hearing His "still, small voice" clearly!

Treasures receives support from all over America, as well as England and other foreign countries. In 2001, over 75% came from outside our church home.

If you are interested in supporting Treasures, we ask you to seek the Lord, to determine what you should do. Sometimes God will direct a person not to help at that time. If so, please be obedient and do not help. We believe that you will know clearly if you are supposed to give to Treasures and that it will be your absolute joy to do so, when it is right. Most importantly, we encourage you put your tithe in your home church! Then your gifts of love will continue to fill our needs to overflowing.
