Hand-held tonometer for Glaucoma testing
The key to successful glaucoma
treatment is early detection.
Glaucoma measurement is a safe, fast and accurate method of
testing intraocular pressure.
Glaucoma occurs when the fluid
drainage from the eye is blocked by abnormal development or injury
to the drainage tissues, thus, resulting in an increase in the
intraocular pressure, damage to the optic nerve, and loss of
vision.
We tend to think of Glaucoma as a
disease inflecting older people, but child can also suffer from
Glaucoma. Glaucoma is classified according to the age of
onset. If it begins before the child is 3 years old, it is called
infantile or congenital (present at birth) glaucoma. If it occurs
in a child older than 3 years old, is called childhood glaucoma.
We purchased the tonometer, as seen
below in image a, to replace the antiquated tools pictured below
in image b. We
can only imagine how they were able to test for Glaucoma with 2
weights, a few rulers, and a tray!
Lena's (our Murom representative)
mom is a doctor at the clinic. "I spoke with my Mom this week
she say, machine is working wonderful, there was a video on how to
use machine, she had study it all ready. And one more time
she say THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
