The most important thing to remember is, "No news, is good news."
As hard as we try, each trip is
different, and we never know the state of communications in Russia. We
will email as often as possible. Moscow is the only city we know will
have international phones that consistently work. Most other cities do not have them,
or if they do, they generally do not work. Then, if available, we must rely on email at our Russian friends' homes, or
the occasional Internet Cafe.
We will supply your family with a
detailed list of dates and places where we will be. The problem is, most of the hotels have little or no English speaking desk clerks.
The Hotel Rossiya, in Moscow, is the only one which may have
someone on duty to take your call.
Your immediate family will be
given a contact number to reach either Bob (Stephanie's husband) or Stefan
(the Barlow's son).
