Shadrack Peter had a hard beginning in life. Though his parents were Christian, having rejected their Hindu religion, the old ways died hard. Shadrack & Family still lived as "untouchables" in the Indian caste system.

Having the unheard of opportunity for an education, something not allowed for untouchables,Shadrack became a science teacher. He later decided to make the most of his life, yielding to the Lord's call to be an evangelist.

Shadrack wants to build an orphanage in the village of Muranpur. The problem is, Christians are not allowed to buy property in India. Guess what? God needed land in Muranpur, so He sold it to Shadrack. Go figure.

Peter Churms, Stephanie's brother, has been friends with Shadrack for several years. Peter asked if Treasures would be interested in helping. Hmmm… India. Like Russia isn't bad enough. After seeing a short video Peter made on one of his trips with Shadrack, we knew we had no choice. The decision was made for us.

The first building on the plan is a multifunction building. It will house a kitchen, laundry, two classrooms, a clinic, meeting room, housing for the house parents, and dorms for boys and girls. This news has been well received by the cows, which have to share their cowshed-by-night with the kids for a classroom-by-day. The estimated cost is $20,000. The need for this building has not been made public, as of yet. However, the Lord has already provided $10,000 against this cost. Is God working His plan or what?
