Hi Everyone,
We thought this would bless your hearts. It's a
letter from Dr. Natalia, a pediatric oncologist in Russia. Dr.
Natalia became a Christian soon after Stephanie's first visit to
Russia in 1996. While there, Stephanie prayed for 2 children who were
dying. When another of Dr. Natalia's patients, a baby, was close to death,
she told the mother a nurse from America said, "When you don't
know what to do, you pray". A doctor raised in communism and a Hindu
mother prayed and God healed the baby. Both women gave their hearts
and lives to Jesus. Now, Dr. Natalia's husband and sons are
Christians, also.
This October, we took Palm Pilots, donated by
friends of Treasures, to three of our English speaking physicians.
Stefan and Dr. Charles programmed them with medical journals and
medical data. With the computer Billy purchased, with money from his
donors, the doctors now have internet access. This will result in
even more lives being saved.
Many of you have donated money for medicines or
given an abundance of medical supplies. Have you ever seen a doctor
cry when presented with medical supplies? You will never know how
much they appreciate your generosity. They take nothing for granted.
Many of you have prayed for the children. Never under estimate the
power of prayer. Consider little Sergey, whom Dr. Natalia mentions.
He
was at death's door when we prayed for him at the hospital. We took
his bone marrow specimen on the 12-hour overnight train to Moscow.
The specimen was drawn with primitive medical supplies. (Bone marrow
aspiration needles are desperately needed.) Normally, the mother
would have taken this acutely ill child to Moscow, but she was drunk
every waking hour. There was no hope for him apart from God. See the
second letter below.
On November 3, Dr. Natalia emailed about Sergey's
condition. He had developed severe sepsis, as well as
respiratory complications, and was not expected to live...we
continued to pray. Now we are praising God, because he is doing well
and in remission. See the second letter below.

Team praying for Sergey. |
Max, Treasures' translator,
witnesses to his sister. |
Hearing about God's love from a
Russian makes a difference. |
Again, we see God's perfect timing. Sergey
arrived at the hospital the night before we left for
Moscow. An additional provision from God, our friend Dr.
Sergey Manuhkin, a neo-natal specialist from Vladimir, accompanied our team to Voronezh. He was able to hand
deliver the specimen to the lab in Moscow.
Please, add little Sergey and his sister to your
prayer lists. We continue to pray for a complete healing so
God's love can be shown to this young girl as she gives Sergey the
care his parents are not able to give.
So...to all our Treasures friends, we thank you
from our hearts. Because of you, there will be a Christmas for many,
after all.
We are so privileged to be a part of God's journey for all these
precious lives.
